Real Estate Divorce Specialist

If you are divorcing and selling a home you need a real estate divorce professional who can not only empathize with what you are going through, but also understand the legal and tax implications of dividing real estate in a divorce.  Divorce is such a minefield of emotions that it presents a unique challenge for Realtors.  You need a real estate divorce specialist (REDS) with training and experience in working with divorcing couples.

If you are ending your marriage, you are not alone.  Over 50% of all marriages end in divorce.  In over 70% of those cases, the parties involved are either buying a house, selling a house, or both.

In addition to being REDS certified, I have experience working with couples getting a divorce.  I have also gone through my own divorce, so I also have experienced firsthand the financial, emotional and custodial issues that divorcing couples face.

"It can be challenging to work for the best interests of both parties, so I represent the best interest of selling the home."

There are several key elements divorcing spouses often disagree on such as how to price the home, when to make price reductions, and how to handle showings, as well as potential Short Sale and Bankruptcy issues.

Your Attorney, Arbitirator, or Mediator Specializes in Divorce. . . Shouldn't Your Realtor?

Legal and Tax Aspects of Divorce

While I cannot provide legal or tax advice, I am trained in the legal and tax aspects of the divorce process as it relates to real estate.  By studying legal rulings, regulations, and tax implications of the divorce process relating to real estate, I am better able to serve our clients as they move through the process of selling or buying real estate prior to, during or after a divorce.

Short Sales and Bankruptcy

Unfortunately, Short Sales and Bankruptcy are a common occurence during and after divorce.  As a Real Estate Divorce Specialist, I am educated on issues surrounding Bankruptcy in Real Estate transactions.  In addition, I have a PROVEN track record of successful Short Sales negotiation.

I am certified by the National Association of Realtors as a Short Sale, Foreclosure Resource (SFR), and have also received Certification through the Home Rescue Institute.

Impartial Representation

You won't be able to sell your home successfully if you can't agree on the terms, and typically court-ordered real estate sales benefit NEITHER of the parties involved.   It takes more than general real estate experience to prevent either party from feeling that their agent has chosen a side in their divorce.  The intracacies of divorce issues surrounding real estate are numerous, and it takes a specialist to move through the process as painlessly as possible.
